First time there and had a wonderful experience. Busy place so make reservations through Yelp. The later the better chance, like after 8. The meats were superb, we ordered the all meat selections but it ended with the soowon galbi special and after 5 courses, we were full, suggest they start with or put in middle..next time we are going to order just the galbi special and the cod plus the creamy egg dish and the side dishes. Friendly and efficient service. Well worth coming into Korea Town for, quality not available in the Bay Area in comparison.

Amazing and delicious kqq! This place served such great food! The wait did not take too long (around 7PM on a Saturday). Once we were seated, we received the side dishes (which I love). They serve a lot of side dishes too! The menu had a variety of meats available! I got two different kinds of beef and pork. And I was fooled because I thought there was only one round of meat where two of the beef already arrived, and my friend and I then ordered the pork. We would not have ordered the pork if we had known that the first round of meat was only for one order of meat. We definitely overordered, but it was so delicious! The price of the meat is a bit pricey, but the meat was well cooked, so I think it was very worth it. The service was great! I really liked our server we had (I think his name was Michael). He was super friendly and joining our conversation. He cooked the meat really well too! Parking can be difficult, but we found a parking garage (that was free too!). Overall, highly recommend trying this place!

Average Korean bbq spot for the area. In my opinion doesn't compete with some of the heavy hitters in the area. The items I would recommend are Soowan Galb Bulgogi

We came here to meet my cousin, it was on a Thursday around 1 PM. I hate going around Koreatown, it is congested like crazy and horrible streets. But the food makes a trip up there worth it from time to time! The lot is tiny but thankfully they have valet parking which we used, I believe it is 3 dollars for lunchtime and 4 dollars during dinnertime. I was planning on spending around 200 dollars for the 3 of us, but got a nice surprise of the restaurant having lunch specials at 30 dollars a piece. My cousin got the dduk galbi (kind of like kalbi salisbury steaks) and daeng jang soup (soybean paste stew) combo, as well as a side order of egg casserole, and my wife and I both chose the kalbi (marinated short rib) and naeng myun (buckwheat noodles in cold broth) combinations. We later added one more kalbi and naeng myun combination, as my cousin decided he wanted some naeng myun too. When you order for the lunch special, they cook the meat in the back and bring it to your table. Normally for a la carte orders of meat, you would grill at your own table. Nevertheless, the meat was delicious and the naeng myun hit the spot! Make sure to add some of the vinegar and hot mustard they bring out for the naeng myun. The banchans were all fresh and they were happy to refill them upon request. We were seated quickly and the food arrived quickly after we had ordered. Service was excellent. We all enjoyed a great meal and the price, while expensive, was a lot less than ordering a la carte. Would recommend this place to all who enjoy kbbq and would definitely return if in the area.

During my post-op after surgery, I asked nurse what's the best Korean BBQ in Koreantown. She recommended Soowon. After shopping at the Calabasas farmers market in the morning, we went to Soowon. We got there at 12:45. We were seated in 15 minutes. We ordered chicken dumplings and tofu soup, Kkot Sal - USDA Prime bone in short ribs and Vegetarian. The dumplings, sides and soup were good. My wife's short ribs were excellent. My grilled veggies were good. Overall the food was good. I would not rate this spectacular. DJ's rating 4.01/5.00 Would I come back? Yes to try their Chicken Bulgogi and Shrimp.
